Kilmington Village Hall
On Friday, 10th November over 50 members of the club and the committee gathered to review the work of the year, which has been considerable. The Kilmington Gardening Club’s year was very active and successful and the meeting was treated to an illustrated review of the year by the Chair, Dr. B. J. Lewis. Her report encompassed the many interesting talks on different aspects of gardening, visits to gardens both nearby and further afield, open gardens, a plant market and of course the Annual Fayre and Flower Show. (Reports of all these activities can be found under ‘Past Events’ on the Annual Programme page).
Displays of photographs on the walls also illustrated these activities. Members were able to renew their membership and, at only £5, it represents remarkable value for the year. With wine, soft drinks and nibbles available on entry and, following the AGM, a wonderful cold buffet produced by Rodney and Jennie Giles, members enjoyed chatting with friends in a very convivial atmosphere. Not only did we go up for seconds for each course but also Rodney offered the left overs for sale. This was very popular and an amazing £90 was raised for Hospiscare.
